“The camera is an instrument that teaches people how to see without a camera.”
— Dorothea Lange
I fell in love with photography nearly ten years ago and absorbed as much of it as possible while acquiring my journalism degree from the University of Oregon (Go Ducks!). While I never intended on working in a newsroom, photojournalism classes helped me learn to tell a meaningful and emotional story with my photos. For this reason, I will only take a few "standard" photos of smiling faces looking at the camera and prefer to capture those special, honest moments of my subjects interacting with one another.
In my spare time I enjoy hiking, taking photos (even for fun!), reading, playing with my crazy pets, yoga and spending time laughing with the important people in my life.
I attempt to wake up everyday with a positive outlook on life even when it has all crumbled the day before. I love to find everyday inspiration that I can learn and grow from.
